NAFSA Academy VIs the Academy Right for You?
If you have answered yes to these questions then you are a great candidate for the NAFSA Academy for International Education. The Academy prepares international education professionals by engaging them in intensive learning and networking opportunities while they work in their current jobs; thereby fast-forwarding the learning process and preparing Academy trainees to take on future leadership roles. Through the Academy you will:
How much experience do I need? You do not need international education experience to take part in the program. The program covers all areas of international education and is meant for those who are newly employed in the field or wish to broaden their perspective. Because the focus is on the individual learner, the program suits a variety of experience levels and international education fields. What is the time commitment? The Academy officially begins at Spring Training in Atlanta; however, you will be asked to complete your learning plan prior to attending Spring Training. Trainees are expected to attend all of the Academy events, complete three assignments that will guide their learning, and check in regularly with their coaches. Overall, the program is flexible and should not infringe too heavily on your current responsibilities (see the even chart below) What costs should I expect? The fee for registration is $1575 due prior to Spring Training. Trainees will also be responsible for all travel costs. How do I apply? Applications are due by December 1, 2007. Applications will be available in the fall. For additional questions, e-mail NAFSA staff at academy@nafsa.org. Academy Event Details
